With Winterbloom and its predecessors having been accepted for publication by Kristell Ink, I am now facing that olde authorial dilemma: what to write next? (I am also facing the dilemma what to read next. In fact #amreading but with interruptions for anxiety, healthy walks in the countryside, being bitten by horseflies, etc) Not to… Continue reading Now what?

Winterbloom first draft finished
Yep. Today I finished the first draft. Now I just have to edit it! The current word count is 180,000 plus, so I am going to have to shed a lot of pounds (as it were). I'm currently feeling slightly traumatised, because what do I do now? Of course, there's loads to do: some beta-reading… Continue reading Winterbloom first draft finished
Winterbloom – new extract
Winterbloom is coming along nicely, and I have now passed the 125,000 word mark, despite some rather fierce inflight editing. Our heroes (?) have now made it to Earth and are about to cause a modest amount of havoc in 1920's Bath. I'm having to bone up on such luminaries as Dr Dee, John Wood the Elder, and William Beckford.

The set comprises Children of the Shaman (currently free to download), The Glass Mountain, and Malarat. It is available to pre-order from Amazon and will be… Continue reading Oh no, it’s a box set!
Indie-bum publishing: Children of the Shaman goes free (again)
I couldn't resist. I read a very interesting article by Mark Lefebvre of Kobo Writing Life and Ali Parker, a new and successful author, entitled The Secret to Marketing Your Book Series. The article is on Freebooksy's Blog (they are a well-known book promotion and review site, similar to Bookbub and Bookgorilla) and so it… Continue reading Indie-bum publishing: Children of the Shaman goes free (again)
Bookgorilla author pages
I've started running around (like a headless chicken) creating lots of new pages for myself. First up, I was discovered a new offer from Bookgorilla, who will create a free author page for you, on the basis that you work to share the link to the best of your ability. I'm just road-testing this now, and will report back later on.

Happy New Year to all our readers!
...as they used to say when there were old-fashioned newspapers. I have noticed that several of my recent blog-posts ended with exclamation marks, something that I hope to remedy in the New Year. Starting today. Before I forget (I have the attention span of a goldfish) I wanted to thank Patty Jansen of Must Use… Continue reading Happy New Year to all our readers!
